I bought a 67 Camaro RS for only $6,500 and I'm taking it to LS Fest East. There isn't a lot of time to get ready so we're swapping in an LS2 from J&J Auto Wrecking bit.ly/GoJnJOH
The LS2 is getting the complete Holley EFI treatment and some BRAND NEW HK Wheels as well. I love the way the wheels and tires came out, can't wait for the body work to match the drivetrain!

When you have a tire calling for a lot of weight in one spit, break it back down and turn it 180 degrees on the rim and reset the bead. Or, if you haven't mounted all the tires yet try putting that tire on a different rim. You most likely know, but 99.99% of the time no rim is perfectly round, and no tire is perfectly round, so they put the valve stem hole in the low spot of rims, and the yellow dot on the tires high spot. So turning the tire 180*, or placing the tire on a different rim can sometimes make it take less weight. You got lucky with that rim and tire that matched perfect -000-, that is rare, but out of thousands of tires, I have had 3 or 4 that zeroed out like that. Or, if it's bad enough, run a Force variation on the tire and rim and the machine will tell you if it's the tire or rim that is bad, and if they're bad enough it will state that so that you can print out the tire machines findings saying which one is bad, and the company will replace them under warranty.

I have the old 555s on my foxbody and they perform really well when it's warm out. However, being in Washington and frequently being below 60 and wet out it probably wasn't my smartest tire choice lol.

I used to work for Rick's Camaros. They specialised in 67-69 Camaros. Rick had every Indy model Convertibles on the front line. You could rebuild as stock, better than stock and show quality. He sold out to Year One one his wife got sick. Nicest man you would ever want to meet.

I really like the new wheels and tires. Why didn't you get the trans with the engine? When your done, you can smoke those fancy new tires until they pop...lol. It will sound good idling in park, as the powerglide does have that distinctive whine.... it will sound stock, when idling parked. By the way, I viewed the video with your dad's gen-set. I have a friend that works for Detroit Diesel. He has a gen-set with one of those two stroke, super charged Detroit's. Wow is it loud, but lots of power at lower RPM, and super reliable. That gen-set will out last all of us!

Try dawn heavy duty degreaser, Lowe’s carries it. I’ve cleaned 2 engines with this, even too embedded black marks off my Bmw interior plastics. No smell! This stuff removed cv axle grease off my Mercedes frame. Try it,. Just agitate it with a cheap 1$ paint brush and rinse off .

Tire tech higher the number the longer it will last. Chinese and Vietnam are now shipping tires to the US. If you have a heavy spot on your tire while trying to balance her. Deflate bust the beads twist the tire 180°. Inflate set the bead check the balance. Rubber Valve stems are good for the a Van not a torque monster. Spend $20 for a set of short steel valves you’ll thank me later👍🏼

Gotta say love the car, hate the wheels. All though you're correct, those are 69 SS wheels that had a very limited run but I prefer the Rallye wheels you took off. Makes the car look tougher and I'm pretty sure they make a 17 inch option. The wheels you bought are more common on Firebirds and Trans-Am's same year range.

You are KEEPING the two speed powerglide?! You must be planning to go drag racing. For any other use I'd go with a six speed manual or an 8 to 10 speed automatic as used in modern cars. What gets me is that the rear end is located as well as sprung by a single leaf spring per side. I know Mark Donohue got it to work amazingly well for Trans Am races, but I don't know if anyone can replicate that.
