I bought the cheapest clean title twin turbo Audi R8 in the country 2 years ago expecting it to be a quick fix. Fixing this car was anything but quick. The build series details all that, but in the last update I said the car was leaving for Florida to be tuned. It spent about 4 months down there while they fixed a few little things and tried to get it tuned. For some reason the ECUs couldn't be tuned so I decided to bring it home and decided what to do with it next. So we drove it 1,500 miles home and it did great. Now to get it tuned.

John Ross, get a custom tune done on it and have them delete the DTC codes for all the removed emissions shit. That is what I did on my old wrx when I did TGV delete and air injection delete. After that it never came back up!

Free Advice - Never buy a post-Tavarish vehicle. Free Advice part 2 - If you do buy a post-Tavarish car, watch every video he made on the car, and UNDO everything he touched. If you ever want the car to run right, just rip all of the turbo crap Tavarish installed, and return it to OEM stock, and THEN you will have finally gotten your money's worth.

Hey JR, been watching your R8 series since you first got it. I ended up buying myself a Heffner TT V8 R8 (6MT) as well (Less than what you paid by the way!) I got my car tuned by Gintani in California. I have zero check engine lights and haven't had any, even with gutted cats ;) Hopefully you get the tune resolved, as it's a blast to drive

The first thing you should've done when you put the new motor is THROW THE TURBO KIT AWAY. Clearly it's a huge reason why the first motor blew up. Instead you spent $16k+ and got the car back without a tune. You also don't have the awesome Audi mag shocks and instead replaced them with a cheap coilover system. $90k+ into an R8 that doesn't run and nobody in their right mind would pay you as much as a stock V8 R8 is worth. Hate to say it, but this thing will be an albatross around your neck until you remove the turbo kit and go back to stock.

I do not get. Even stock, the V8 could not crack 20mpg. Made no sense. Never ever add boost to an engine not designed for it originally. Just does not work for long.

So basically anyone else would have 105k wrapped up in this POS and still not have it tuned to be usable . Thats a brand new c8 and a C6 with 800hp turbo that anyone can tune . And way less $$$$ to fix if you blow it up . All for a good sound system ? It's your money so do as you please ,but, I can think of many better ways to get a good sound system.

It's all up to you on what it's worth,i have a97 legacy gt that i bought for 300 dollars and rebuilt the whole suspension and repainted it.I put about 3k into it in parts and about 4k in labor myself.It's maybe worth 3k on the market and i plan on doin the interior next.

Heffner presents a 9k bill.. and says he CAN'T TUNE THE CAR? And even adds that if he applies more throttle the engine may explode. Had to check that in wiki too:) looks like 93 is highest octane fuel in states. Some states rate 91 octane petrol as Premium... Thats strange. In Europe never saw injected engine, whos manual sugested fill with lower than 95 RON fuel.... Even on my shitty cars I tried to fill 98 octane fuel all the time.

Time for syvex or haltec after market management that's should help tunability. MRC used to have a single turbo V8 R8 they should know something about running this . Hope HP tuners help.

GUYS: i know having a 3 second attention span and a very low common sense/i.q makes this hard for you to grasp: 1) having a 12 quart capacity and being down a quart after a 1000 miles on a turbo car is a non-issue....its a new engine with a twin turbo system using a dry sump 2) the tune is tricky because of the stock audi ecm,a complex aftermarket twin turbo set up COMBINED WITH choices made by the p/o and several original systems being bypassed or removed. 3) the reason it runs like that is because of the inability to tune it properly due to a stock ecm/ecu ,a complex aftermarket twin turbo set up COMBINED WITH choices made by the p/o........ guys: if you don't get it now,you never will so stop mumbling incoherently about things you don't understand,could never understand and cant afford anyway. the car is beautiful JR and once its tuned will be a FUCKING MONSTER

dde dave had the suspension light on his R8 and AGX fixed it in 10 minutes (very quickly anyway) If I remember correctly they just looped the sensor wires at each plug 🔌. It worked. 🇬🇧👍
